Occupational Health and Safety management system
ISO 45001-2018 specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, provides guidance for its use to enable a company to improve its performance and prevent injury and ill-health.
ISO 45001 has been written to apply even to small businesses, regardless of size, type. Its requirements are designed to be easily integrated into other management processes, ISO 9001 and 14001.
Other aspects of worker health and safety can be integrated such as wellness/wellbeing and may be required by local/state legal requirements. The ISO 45001 standard does not specifically address issues such as product safety, property damage or environmental impact. The ISO 45001 standard’s primary goal is to eliminate or minimize the risk of harm to people.
